Franz first began building with stone as a teenager at 17 years of age, having already developed a reverence for the craft and the aesthetic it creates. As a young man learning and perfecting his craft, he worked on high-end architectural builds and, in the process, developed a keen eye for detail and a knack for traditional craftsmanship.​
